The work of brake calipers is to press your vehicle’s brake pads against the face of the spinning brake rotor, causing the car to slow down or stop. Once you step on the brake pedal, the hydraulic pressure created is transmitted through a system of pipes to the calipers. In turn, a piston in each caliper forces the brake pad to squeeze against the rotor. To know whether you need to replace any of your car’s calipers, look out for a burning scent when driving, leaking fluid, or squealing noises. Find OEM caliper replacements here on our site!
