Brake Rotors
Another important part of your Ford's brake system are the rotors. Usually seen through your vehicles wheels, the rotor is a large flat disk that sits just behind the wheel. What's the rotor do you ask? Well it's the surface that your brake pads grab onto to slow the rotation of your wheel. As you can imagine, being squeezed by brake pads over and over is a tough job, but something has to do it. Your Ford's rotors are made to be durable and long lasting, but over time they can start to show signs of wear. Also referred to as brake discs, brake rotors are the components that your car's brake pads press against to slow down or stop the car. Since this role relies on friction, these components easily wear out with time and have to be replaced. Check for various signs of worn out rotors like increased stopping distances, score marks or grooves on a rotor's face, excessive pulsation or vibration from your brakes, and brake noise. In case you notice such symptoms, schedule a professional inspection to be on the safe side. When you know it's time to replace your rotors, make sure you insist on genuine Ford rotors, which you can find on our site.
